Here’s a story that borders with the impossible - an iPhone was dropped in a lake and stayed there for six months. All hope was lost and Ken Hovanes, the iPhone owner got a new device. Then water levels came down and after nearly half a year the lost iPhone laid right where it was dropped, in the lake.
It might be a surprise that the user found it, but it’s an even bigger shock that it actually worked. With a couple of artifacts on the screen, and some swelling on the back, admittedly, but that’s a little price to pay for a working iPhone.
Interesetingly, other users have also chimed in on the thread saying that for example one dropped an iPhone in a pool for a couple of months and it similarly worked. That’s a pretty inexplicable mystery, though. Usually water damage kills a device within seconds and not even minutes.
